The Affordable Housing Program helps employed households who need a lower rent, by offering rental suites that are below market rent. In this program tenants pay rent that is at least 10% below the market rents for the area.
Applicants must provide verification of their current income and employment, and must maintain employment during their tenancy. The maximum income limits depend on the community and property you are applying to live in. Applications are reviewed on a case by case basis to ensure the applicants will be able to afford the rent and all utilities.
Application approval is subject to landlord and credit reference checks and a verified maximium asset value of $60,000. All applicants 18 years of age and older may be required to pass a criminal records check before they move in.
Westwinds Communities has a variety of two, three and four bedroom accommodation available for families. The housing options include townhouses and single family homes that are suitable for families with children. Some housing units are wheelchair accessible. Housing options are available in Black Diamond, High River, Okotoks and Turner Valley.
